Hello, Friends--
Riverbend Park will be the location for
a new program, 'Paint With Jack,' for those who would like to paint
outdoors in a group and for beginners who would like some help. We'll
meet most Saturday mornings at 8am at the Visitor Center and paint
until noon or so. The painting session will be followed by a group
critique. This is not a 'course,' so you can attend when and if you
feel so inclined. The cost is a nominal $10, all of which goes to the
park (make checks payable to Riverbend Park, not to me). Here are some
more particulars:
- The group will meet weekly but check beforehand by calling me at
703-437-9681 for a recorded announcement--I'll be away part of August,
for example. Same if weather is threatening (if we can't paint outdoors
the group will not meet).
- Everyone must have all their own equipment. Bring your own lunch or snack, if desired.
- Please--please!--no roller carts.
- Painters in all media are welcome.
- Beginners' are invited to ask questions, but I'll be painting, too,
so my attention will necessarily be somewhat limited. But ask, and if I
don't know the answer someone else may.
- I can supply a suggested materials list to those who want it.
- If a session is rained out in the first hour or so there will be no charge.
- Late arrivals: we'll leave a note at the Visitor Center (taped to the front door) directing you to our venue for the day.
- I'll usually arrive much earlier than 8:00--and earlybirds are welcome to join me.
- Please email me (or call) if you have any suggestions for making this program more valuable and enjoyable.
